On Friday, December 2, 2011, Urban Alliance Interns toured the campus of the University of Maryland, saw the inside of a campus dorm, learned about the history of Testudo the Terrapin, and grabbed lunch at one of the many campus dining halls. During lunch, Interns were able to chat with a UMD Alumna, and an Urban Alliance Alumnus who is a current UMD student. Calvin Allen-Crawford, Intern at CEB reflected, “I was able to get a feel for what a really big University is like. I enjoyed the enthusiasm of the tour guides. They made me feel so amped and ready to graduate and get out of high school. I was thinking about applying there, and now I am really going to apply to UMD!”
