Aida Villalta is a senior at Wakefield High School in Arlington, Virginia. She has been an Urban Alliance Intern with the Arlington County Office of Emergency Management since October of 2013. She was recently interviewed by Alejandro Negron from WJLA on their TV show, AGENDA. On the show, Aida was able to talk about her experience as a Dream Act student and how Virginia Attorney General Mark Herring’s decision to grant in-state tuition to Dream Act students will enable her to enroll at Northern Virginia Community College this fall. Aida was on the panel with J. Walter Tejada, a member of the Arlington County Board. The Urban Alliance team was able to brief him on our efforts in Northern Virginia and we look forward to future opportunities for collaboration with him as we grow our presence in the region. The show aired in English on May 10th on News Channel 8 and in Spanish on May 11th on Telemundo.
