Chas Ackley
Executive Director, Baltimore
A seasoned leader in coaching, mentorship, and administration, Chas Ackley has more than 14 years of dedicated experience in education and nonprofit management.
He is the Executive Director of Urban Alliance Baltimore, a non-profit headquartered in Washington, D.C. building a diverse next-generation workforce by providing job skills training, mentoring, pre-apprenticeships and paid internships to high school youth and young adults from underserved communities so that they may live a life of economic independence and upward mobility. Working with key partners including Bithgroup Technologies, Bozzuto and M&T Bank, Urban Alliance Baltimore annually serves more than 200 students in 11th and 12th grades.
Prior to his role with Urban Alliance, Ackley served as Chief Program Officer, Target Investment Zone (TIZ) at the Living Classrooms Foundation. In this pivotal role, he exercised oversight over all facets of operations, programming, and strategic initiatives.
Before his time at Living Classrooms, Ackley served as a Middle School teacher at The Crossroads School in Baltimore City, during which he established the BeMore Athletic League, a pioneering endeavor aimed at broadening sports accessibility and opportunities for middle school students. Today, this league engages over 1,200 students across six sports options and spanning more than 20 Baltimore City Middle Schools.
His unwavering commitment lies in enriching the lives of young people in the State of Maryland by fostering improved access to education and postsecondary opportunities.
