Kara joined Urban Alliance in November 2021. Kara has spent most of her career in the non-profit sector and has a background in community outreach and program development, partnership building, and fundraising. In 2017, Kara completed a year of service as an AmeriCorps VISTA where she helped build non-profit resources and capacity. Before joining UA, she worked as the Development Manager for a regional environmental non-profit based in Reno, Nevada, where she grew organizational funding and resources to build and expand important programming across the area. Originally from the west coast, Kara completed her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Nevada, Reno, and her Master of Public Administration and Policy at American University in Washington, DC.
