Roderick Howard
Chief Operating Officer
Roderick Howard is the Chief Operating Officer for Urban Alliance, a non-profit headquartered in Washington, D.C. building a diverse next-generation workforce by providing job skills training, mentoring, pre-apprenticeships and paid internships to high school youth and young adults from underserved communities so that they may live a life of economic independence and upward mobility.
In his role as COO, Howard drives key operational and administrative functions to ensure that Urban Alliance has the infrastructure needed to continue the organization’s success and impact.
Prior to joining Urban Alliance, Howard served as a National Director of Operations for Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), supporting four regions across the country. He held multiple roles for the YMCA including Vice President of Community Engagement/Executive Director at the Piedmont Family YMCA in Charlottesville Virginia, Executive Director of Youth Development at the YMCA of Northwest North Carolina in Winston-Salem, and working with the YMCA of the USA to launch programs, serve on National Employee Resource Groups, Multicultural Development programs, Diversity and Inclusion committees and traveling around the country engaging and supporting Y’s of all sizes.
An active member of the community, he volunteers with the Black Achievers Networking group and the Washington Regional Alcohol Program.
