Hands-on Property Management Training

Recently, Urban Alliance Baltimore interns spent a day at Continental Realty to participate in hands-on training as part of the Property Management Program. Continental Realty is a real estate investment and management company with a portfolio of apartment communities and commercial properties, and is a dedicated partner of Urban Alliance.

Through our Property Management Program, interns work in the leasing or service technician field with residential properties with the goal to secure full-time employment following program completion. This pathway is paired with industry credentials by the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) and Project Destined, a virtual Real Estate training program where our students leave the course with a full understanding of the industry and college credits from Lehman College-CUNY.

During this day-long training, interns gained valuable insights into the service maintenance field, working alongside experienced professionals to understand the daily responsibilities involved in maintaining residential properties.

From troubleshooting equipment to performing routine inspections, the experience provided a comprehensive look at the technical skills and problem-solving abilities required in the industry. This immersive training day not only equipped interns with practical knowledge but also highlighted the critical role service maintenance plays in successful property management.

In addition to the hands-on training, each intern received a toolkit from Lowes valued at $1000 each! Partnerships like these with Lowes and Continental Realty make it possible for our students to build a sustainable future career pathway.

The interns are in training with Urban Alliance through the month of September and upon successful completion, they will be placed at a job site with one of our employer partners. Click here to learn more!
